Product Overview

The Diskette 3.5 - Formatted is a floppy disk that’s is used in a floppy disk drive (FDD), An FDD is a small disk drive that is used in computers for data transfer, storage and the backup of small amounts of data, as well as the installation of programs and driver updates. A disk drive is the more common term used to describe a floppy disk drive. It accesses data recorded on small, removable diskettes known as floppy disks. A floppy disk, also known as a floppy, diskette, or simply a disk, is a type of disk storage composed of a disk of thin and flexible magnetic storage medium, sealed in a rectangular plastic enclosure lined with fabric that removes dust particles. One of the main advantages of floppy disks is that they are relatively small and portable. 3.5-inch floppy disks are smaller than CDs and do not need to be placed in a case for transport. The outside of a floppy disk is a plastic casing that protects the disk inside. Floppy disk drives are used to read from and/or write data. Modern floppy disks have a capacity of 1.44MB. They are available in either internal or external types.
