Product Overview
The Split Washer - Black 0.375 ID is a washer, which a thin plate with a hole that is normally used to distribute the load of a threaded fastener, such as a bolt or nut. In split washers, the ring split at one point and bent into a helical shape. Helical split washers are widely used as anti-loosening assembly components to apply greater bolt tension per unit of applied torque. The split absorbs initial driving torque and visually closes under bolt loading. When tension in the assembly is reduced and loosening occurs, it provides resistance to the back-off rotation of the screw. This washer is made of stainless steel. Stainless steels are iron-based alloys, which contains minimum of chromium around 10.5%. The presence of chromium offers corrosive resistance to stainless steel and helps to resist scaling at elevated temperature. Stainless steel also maintain the excellent toughness. It also gives good and attractive surface finish, which can be maintained with less or minimum effort.
